Benzoin is the sap (gum resin) that comes from cuts in the trunk of trees that belong to the Styrax family.
Benzoin is used on the skin for ulcers, bed sores (pressure ulcers), cracked skin, and many other conditions. It is also used on canker sores in and around the mouth to protect them so they can heal. Some people apply it directly to the skin to kill germs, reduce swelling, and stop bleeding from small cuts. Use it to make balms, butters, oils and salves.
Benzoin helps relieve and soothe minor irritation of the nose, throat, and airways (such as laryngitis, croup) when it is mixed with hot water and the steam is inhaled. You can also use it to make tinctures.
Organically Grown
