Frankincense
Size: 4 oz Bag
(Latin Name: Boswellia sacra, Boswellia carterii)
(Also known as: Olibanum)
Brief History & Origin
Frankincense is known as The Tears of the Gods, a sacred resin collected from the Boswellia tree, native to the deserts of Oman, Somalia, and India. For over 5,000 years, Frankincense has been burned in temples, churches, and healing sanctuaries as an offering of purification and connection to the Divine. Ancient Egyptians used it in ceremonial rites, embalming rituals, and sacred perfumes. The Magi carried Frankincense as one of the most precious gifts to honor birth, life, and spirit. Its resin is harvested by wounding the tree, allowing it to bleed its fragrant sap—teaching us that healing often comes through sacred release.
