Chaste Tree Berry/Chasteberry

8oz bag

Chasteberry aka Vitex Agnus-Castus is a fruit used in herbal practices to support women's health. It is often used to assist in maintaining overall wellness, ease discomforts relating to PMS and life transitions.

Benefits of Chasteberry

1. Eases Symptoms of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)
Chasteberry, scientifically known as Vitex agnus-castus, is widely recognized for its ability to alleviate symptoms associated with PMS. Research indicates that it may help reduce irritability, mood swings, breast tenderness, and migraines by influencing hormone levels. Specifically, chasteberry appears to lower prolactin levels, which helps rebalance estrogen and progesterone levels in the body. In clinical studies, a significant percentage of women reported improvements in their PMS symptoms after taking chasteberry supplements.

2. May Reduce Menopause Symptoms
Chasteberry may also provide relief from various menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and mood disturbances. Some studies have shown that women using chasteberry experienced improvements in mood and sleep quality during menopause.

3. Enhances Fertility
Chasteberry has been suggested to improve female fertility by addressing hormonal imbalances that can affect ovulation and menstrual regularity. It may be particularly beneficial for women experiencing luteal phase defects—conditions where insufficient progesterone production occurs after ovulation. By promoting a healthier hormonal balance, chasteberry could potentially support conception efforts.

4. Supports Overall Reproductive Health
Beyond PMS and menopause, chasteberry is used to address various reproductive health issues in women, including irregular menstrual cycles and certain types of breast pain linked to menstruation (cyclic mastalgia). Its hormone-regulating properties make it a popular choice among herbal remedies for women’s health.

5. Anti-Inflammatory Properties
Chasteberry is believed to possess anti-inflammatory effects that can contribute to its overall health benefits. This property may help alleviate discomfort associated with hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle or menopause.
