Elecampane

(Latin Name: Inula helenium)

Size: 4oz bag

Brief History & Origin

Elecampane is the Herb of Breath and Memory, a tall, radiant plant with golden sunflower-like blooms. Its roots hold ancient medicine, known to the Greeks and Celts as a protector of the lungs and spirit.

The name Helenium is said to come from Helen of Troy, who, according to legend, had Elecampane grow where her tears touched the earth.

In medieval herbalism, it was carried as a charm against illness and sorrow, while healers used its root to strengthen the lungs and clear phlegm from the body. Elecampane is a bridge between the upper world of air and the underworld of roots—a medicine of breath, grief release, and resilience.
